  16. I am having problems with my MicroVitec 1438 multisync monitor and my a1200.
  17. here is my spec...

  19. a1200+_hawk 4meg ram + 340meg 3.5 inch Seagate HDD + printer + 1438 monitor
  20.  
  21. Running in super72:shires laced (and any other high resolution like dblpal)
  22. but NOT in something like pal:laced or equivalent 'old)  mode, i get strange 
  23. effects on my screen.

  25. a number of effects:
  26.  
  27. 1) spurious lines appearing on the screen (not full screen width, jsut say 
  28.    3cm long and flickery at random spots, but once they appear they dont go 
  29.    for a while.
  30. 2) Parts of the screen seem to go 'out of sync'.  Below a point on the screen 
  31.    the screen flickers black briefly.
  32. 3) The screen occassionally just goes black.  this only ever happens when using 
  33.    finalwriter release 3, always has 1+2 before hand.  The screen just goes black,
  34.    the machine is still working in the background - i can do anything i want - but 
  35.    blind!

  37. Does anyone knwo whats going on?  Is it my machine or the monitor?
  38. Can it be fixed!!!

  40. Its not my utilities that i run on startup because i took all of them out, and
  41. still it happens.
  42. Its not a dodgy power supply (well it could be the brick), because i have a surge 
  43. protector/power regulator thingy i borrowed from a friends pc.
